Annotation: The methods and the tools of effective management of transportation process on the basis of interaction of the traffic schedule and the plan of formation of trains with the use of information and analytical technologies are described. The main influencing factors and their impact on the transportation process are defined; the tasks of dispatching unit and adoption of high-quality solutions by it for challenges on a strategic, tactical and operational scale are formulated. A new technology of development of a trains’ movement schedule on the basis of automation and modeling, considering interoperability of the plan of formation of trains and the traffic schedule is suggested.
