Methodological features of assessment of social and economic damage from the road accidents with victims

Annotation: There have been analyzed the data on the number of road accidents with victims occurred in the Russian Federation in comparison with the developed countries of the world. There have been singled out the basic indicators of damage from the road accident. The main approaches to calculate the cost of human life are considered. As a necessary element of assessment of damage from road accidents the method of subjective assessment of the cost of human live has been selected, which is based on the willingness of population to pay for risk reduction. There has been set the list of directions for the survey of respondents, including the main components of road safety, their clear formulation and priority. There has been stated the need to prepare a new methodology to assess a socio-economic damage from road accidents, developed on a mixed basis, using several approaches.
