Annotation: There have been considered the certain aspects of restoration of dismantled sections of railways in the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Using the example of restoration and docking of two specific sections of the Kazakh and Russian railways today, there has been described a methodology for economic assessment of the impact of subsequent redistribution of cargo flows between Russia and Kazakhstan on the revenue of the Russian Railways.
